Ideological And Philosophical Terms Christians Should Know

Ideological And Philosophical Terms Christians Should Know

The following terms are words that Christians need to know and understand. Almost all of them speak to the belief there is no God or a human centered worldview. A few do not and are compatible with Christianity. Many Christians do not understand what communism is or its verifying factors. So learn the definitions of the words and try to understand. Not all atheists are communists, but all communists should be atheists even though there is a contradictory trend of “christians” claiming it. Not all humanists are atheists, but all atheists are humanists, but both atheists and humanists hate religion (even though early humanists claimed they were a religion). All the definitions are a mix and match of concepts that may or may not consist of the entire definition of current people following such beliefs. There may be 2 separate definitions for the same term, yet it is not hard to understand which is which. They are all from I list them in no particular order. Just skim over it and read the definitions.

There are a lot of “isms” thrown around in social, political, and worldview discussions. The only 4 I believe could be considered biblical and give freedom to men are capitalism, nationalism, republicanism, and individualism when practiced with Christian morality of course. Even though many cultures exist, it is impossible to have a nation with a set of values that identify it if there is an emphasis on forcing multiculturalism. It is a way to mask absolute truth and promote a liberal view of morality and religion. Cultures and customs are one thing, but when it comes to a cultures morality and theology it gets difficult. The influx of Islam in many western nations is an obvious sign that multiculturalism is not a good thing. The national identity will be lost and its values and culture covered up. The United States is suffering from multiculturalism as well and our nation is failing because we gave up our Christian heritage. Globalism is also bad. Yes caring about other nations is good, and having an eye out for the earth to preserve resources and nature; but allowing the world to dictate your nations values, rules, regulations, culture, and religion is not, and that is the goal is globalism. It rejects a nations sovereignty and make everyone a citizen of the world. It has the goal is creating a one world government and one world culture and it will be a humanistic philosophy. The Bible teaches that individual nations should exist. Even in Ezekiel when it talks about the reign of Christ on earth it mentions other nations still existing who will come and honor Christ in Israel.

The rest are pretty much godless views that are anti-christian in nature and vehemently opposed to the Bible’s teachings. They are man’s idolization and promotion of human transcendence over any God and their own take on how a “perfect” society should be in thought and practice. The results of such thinking are pretty much worldwide misery and destruction and bondage to the elite few who will dictate to the world every aspect of their lives. It will be a dystopian future ready for the Antichrist. Even anarchy in its philosophical form makes no sense since humans will not freely cooperate with one another unless someone makes them. So anarchy is self refuting. It would be short lived.

SOCIALISM: theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole. The stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles. An economic theory or system in which the means of production, distribution, and exchange are owned by the community collectively, usually through the state. Bible Contradiction? Not So Fast! Slow Down And Read Further!

Bible Contradiction? not so fast! Slow Down And Read Further!

A lot of times when people read the Bible they will see one thing and assume it is a Bible contradiction or be totally confused. It makes them stop to think hard about the passage at hand and about why is it written the way it is written, and how it all make sense logically. Atheists love to misrepresent and misinterpret types of things!

When confronted with a confusing passage or one that seems to make no sense that comes off as a contradiction it is best to slow down, think it over, then read further for it to be explained. Often times people who have the intention to find a contradiction in the Bible will simply think they find one and stop and not read further. If they only read further it will be explained and found to not be a real contradiction.

For this discussion Read Exodus 4-7.

One example I will present is Exodus 4:30,

Aaron repeated everything the LORD had said to Moses and performed the signs before the people.

What makes this verse confusing is that prior in the story God had specifically told Moses he would perform such duties. But Moses complained and said he was not a good speaker so he needed help. God then told Moses that Aaron would be his spokes person. The main verses on this part of the story are Exodus 4:13-17,

Moses said, ‘Please Lord, send someone else.
Then the LORD’s anger burned against Moses, and He said, ‘Isn’t Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, he is on his way now to meet you. When he sees you his heart will rejoice. You will speak with him and tell him what to say. I will help both you and him to speak, and will teach you both what to do. He will speak to the people for you. He will be your spokesman, and you will serve as God to him. And take this staff in your hand that you will perform the signs with.

When reading this it seems confusing that in verse 30 Aaron is the one performing the signs with the staff and his hand. Before all of this Moses had met God at the burning Bush where God gave him directions on how to perform 2 sign miracles. One was throwing his staff onto the ground to make it turn into a snake, and the other was putting his hand inside his robe and pulling it out to become diseased and white and putting it back in and returning his hand to normal. In Exodus 4:30 it says that Aaron performed these signs. But if God gave Moses the direction to to them why is it said Aaron is doing them? When reading it, it feels very random. Is this a contradiction? It is not, and to find out why it is not you simply should read further into the story.

In chapter 7 of Exodus God specifically tells Moses to tell Aaron to perform the miracles. Verses 8-9 state,

The LORD said to Moses and Aaron, ‘When Pharaoh tells you: Perform a miracle, tell Aaron: Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh. It will become a serpent.”

So not only could Aaron perform the miracle God gave direction to Moses to do, he could do it with his own staff. This is most likely because Moses gave the staff to him to carry. It did not have to be Moses’s staff necessarily. God allowed Moses to be silent and not be the spokesperson for God since he was afraid, and instead allowed Moses to tell Aaron to do everything for him including the miracles. Aaron even did many of the plague miracles as well, but later Moses performed the plague miracles. So according to what is written in Exodus 4:30 it is plausible that Moses also told Aaron the directions on performing the miracles as well.

Aaron turning his staff into the snake while Moses stands silently behind

It is plausible that God told Moses to tell Aaron to do the miracles even if it is not written down explicitly that he did in verses 4:14-17.” It was also not written down that Moses explained it to Aaron either in verses 27-28 where Moses and Aaron met and greeted. Verse 27 says “Moses told Aaron everything the LORD had sent him to say, and about all the signs He had commanded him to do.” It can be understood that in this sentence it is implied Moses also explained that Aaron would be the one to do them. It is obvious later in chapter 7 that this is so. Since Moses told Aaron to do the miracles in front of the Egyptians it is apparent this understanding that Aaron would be doing the miracles was established before he met the Israelite elders as well beforehand.

In verse 4:17 God says directly to Moses, “And take this staff in your hand that you will perform the signs with.” This does not negate Aaron being the one to do them. Saying “you will perform” can be understood as a general statement. It does not necessarily mean only Moses can and will do it, but a general term that it will be done by Moses and Aaron together. It could also be understood as a plural “you” with the understanding of “you and Aaron.” People speak this way all of the time in every day language today. Someone gives orders to someone that they MUST do something, yet that person oversees other people who are the ones who are physically going to do it. Whereas the person who was commanded to do them actually does not do the work. This happens in the military or any profession with a hierarchy. No one would ever accuse a general of a contradiction when he commands someone under him who is in charge of other men to do something, when it is the other men he is in charge of who do the work the general asked him to do. Moses was given special authority that he would “serve as God” to Aaron in 4:16. In 7:1 God told Moses that He made him like God to Pharaoh and Aaron is his prophet.  So Moses could be told to do something by God, and then have Aaron do it for him instead of him doing it. There is absolutely no contradiction in this passage.

Exodus 4:30 is simply one verse that could be thought of as a contradiction without further reading in the passage, story, chapter, or book. Remember for the next time when reading the Bible you find something that is confusing to stop, relax, think it over, then continue reading. It will be explained eventually further in the Bible. Also, it never hurts to ask your pastor or seek out a respected Bible teacher on the topic that concerns you. Don’t give up, God will reveal the answer to you in His Word.

LaVey Satanists Have A Desperate Need For Attention

LaVey Satanists Have A Desperate Need For Attention

In my experience the typical people claiming to be a Satanist come off as a pretentious goofballs with a desperate need for attention. They especially seem to take great pleasure in assuring us they don’t actually worship the Devil. When someone talks about them worshiping Lucifer they love to correct people and say “No REAL satanist worships Satan! He does not even exist! Just like your God does not exist! Instead Satan is a symbol of adversary to Christianity! They express how they are “in the know” and everyone else is so ignorant. They remind me the typical Wiccan witches who love to express to everyone that the Pentagram they use is not upside down like the Satanic pentagram is which is known as the “Sigil of Baphomet” (The Church of Satan uses it as their official symbol). Baphomet is the name of a goat deity known as a “Sabbatic Goat.” The term “baphomet” originally just meant an occultic deity certain “Knights Templar” members were accused of worshiping. The goat idol became associated with the occult and the idea of Devil worship popularized it in the mid-1800’s. only in 1966 did the Church of Satan use the goat deity with the pentagram to associate it with Satanism.

Examples of symbols:

Neopagan symbol of “right side up star” pentagram used by Wiccas. Can be with or without a circle.

Without a circle

“Upside down star” pentagram mostly used by Satanists of various types

“Sigil of Baphomet” first appeared in Clef de la Magie Noirse, a book written in 1897 by occultist Stanisla de Guaita

Sigil of Baphomet, the official symbol of the Church of Satan

Goat deity known as Baphomet associated with Satan. It has breasts but is also male.

Typical people wanting to associate with LaVey Satanism seem to relish the confusion or accusations of literal Satan worship thrown at them by the media and average people who do not know what the Church of Satan believes. These people love to “enlighten” such ignorant people that they truly do not worship the Devil but are actually Atheists and follow a theatrical religion. What is funny is most of these people are new to Satanism or really do not follow what the Church of Satan typically promotes. Even so, the Church of Satan itself comes off as an organization of elitists who think they are more profound, intelligent, deep, and important than everybody else. The official website of the church has a whole rant against “internet Satanists” that is pretty long. I find it amusing. It is basically saying “Hey guys we are the REAL Satanists! You are fakes!! You poseurs!!! ” Yes, they spelled it the pretentious way of spelling poser.

If an organization does not believe in any God or supernatural beings, not even Satan, but they enjoy using Christian ideas such as “a Satan” and “666” and other silly theatrical things that actually come from the Bible, then they are simply just riding off the waves of Christianity in order to draw attention to themselves and their ideas. It is awfully silly and unnecessary and just immature. They are hypocritical in their criticism of the so called “poseurs” who run website and pretend to be Satanic and are trying too hard. They in turn do the exact same thing but at a different degree.

There are on the other hand Devil worshipers but they are not a part of the Church of Satan and may or may not be a part of some organization. Many call themselves “Theistic Satanists” who worship Satan as a being literally as God. The Church of Satan claims there is no such thing as a true theistic satanist as the concepts of “theistic” and “Satanism” are a contradiction. They are only a contradiction if you accept their term of what Satanism is. They are elitists who think they are really original, when in  fact their philosophy has always existed before them throughout history when man decides to elevate himself above God and refuse to believe God exists. Such people throughout history did not need to draw a name from a fallen angel. So why do Satanists claim there are rules such as only expressing “wrath within reason” against someone, and do not do illegal things etc. So for the LaVeyists out there, who is the grand arbitrator of true morality, or what is right and what is wrong? How far is too far and why? If there is no God who decides what is and is not okay to indulge in?

While there are devil worshiping “theistic satanists” out there who seem to think Lavay Satanists are weak and the true posers since they do not worship Satan literally in defiance of God. The Devil worshipers accept that God exists but think they can destroy God or defeat Him, and that Satan is actually strong and frees them. Such people are involved in occult magic and demon possession such as groups like Temple of Set (offshoot from Church of Satan by former members including Anton LaVey’s daughter who was a member) and the Temple of the Black Light from Norway composed of many black metal musicians who practice an esoteric Satan worship. At least such “Satanic, Christian-hating orders” have the guts to fully worship Satan, while the LaVeyists pretend and use the name to show off.

LaVeyists really are not their own gods as they claim, but simply follow dead prophet named Anton LaVey and his rules and ideas and whatever silly high priest (who literally looks like a goofball) is in office, who also wears all black and has a silly beard and looks like a nerd + beatnik (pre-hipster), yet mocks those who take up Satanism with scary clothes and demonic imagery. Yet the original church of Satan itself uses demonic imagery. It is all nonsense. It is a hierarchy of posers from the wannabe Church of Satan members to the actual members themselves who are also posers on another level (they are the elitists). Their Satanic ideas are absurd. “There is no god, you are your own god and you do whatever you want! Sin all the time! Oh wait don not sin too much and please do it within reason. We don’t want to get in trouble or anything…”

Church of Satan members are simply atheists who enjoy sin who want to feel special and get their kicks out of reactions and shock value. This is my opinion.

Whether or not the Church of Satan or any offshoots like The First Church of Satan actually worship the devil and have been deceiving the public has not been proven but there are speculations. Even so, if they are simply silly theatrical Satanists who are just atheists playing “devil” stuff for pretend does not matter since they are still godless, unsaved, sinners who are salves to Satan on earth and their sins whether they want to believe it or not. They all need to repent of their sins and follow God. Their pride and arrogance keeps them from the humility necessary to repent of sin and accept God for who He is, that He is loving and the standard of what is true and good, that humans need to fear Him and submit to Him and quit their sins, that Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved and truly given freedom. Indulging in sin leads to death.

Atheists Blame Christianity For Islamic Terrorism And Murder Sprees

Atheists Blame Christianity For Islamic Terrorism And Murder Sprees

Atheists see the news, watch the videos, understand the murder and rampant death Islamofacism has brought on the world and is committing right now by beheading journalists and other people who do not agree with their Caliphate, yet use this as evidence for why they think Christianity (labeled “religion”) is bad for the world. When Islamic terrorists in Al-Shabob shoot up a mall in Kenya, Boku Haram steals 200 young girls in Nigeria, The Islamic State creates a Caliphate and beheads hundreds of people, shooting even more in the head one after another, crucifying Christians and other religions, all Atheists can say is, “Religion is evil! It is religion that is the problem! Christianity is also bad!” They cannot simply say, “WOW! What the heck is up with the Quaran?” and “Islamic terrorists have got to be eradicated.” They have to exclaim their disdain that Christianity is also the problem and guilty of atrocities. They do this by stating religion in general is evil.

It is so apparent that the Atheist mindset is so delusional, so misguided, so biased and hateful, and so ignorantly stupid that they must make sure they have bashed Christianity for every act of Muslim violence as well; and not only the one religion of Islam. Even when only one religion is committing terror acts worldwide, and right now causing chaos in the middle east, they blind themselves to this obvious reality. Today ISIL/ISIS just released a 2nd journalist beheading video of a U.S. journalist. Yet Atheists all over the internet keep saying, “Yes Islam is a problem but we have to make sure that you know Christianity is also bad.” No it is not! Christians are not murdering thousands of people and plotting world domination! Christians have never suicide bombed anyone and do not plan to. No other religions (Buddhists, Mormons, Catholics, Hindus, Janists, Bahais, Wiccans, New Agers, or Jews) are trying to murder the entire world unless it conforms to their strict beliefs of a religious state. Only Islam is! If you want to stop the problem, stop the actual problem! When one person brings into question the statements and beliefs in the Quaran about such slaughter the Atheist has to chime in and say, “Well as long as you admit the Bible is also evil and false!” You have to be absolutely insane to see Islamic violence and then get angry at the Bible for it.

Only an idiot would see people in group (A) attacking everyone and killing people in groups (B-Z), but walk up to group (B) only and blaming them as a whole in general for the attacking and killing only group (A) did. So basically to stop Islamic fascism one must first attack Christianity. Yeah real logical…

This is bogus and I am calling out all Atheists to stop the nonsense, stop the hate, stop the flat out delusional lies against Christianity by painting it on equal terms as Islam. You may despise religion but be truthful! The news is reporting Islamic terrorism, not Christian terrorism. Even your once beloved Richard Dawkin’s understands this! Yet, you disown him, due to him not being politically correct and following the liberal narrative on the issue.

Atheists are only proving their focused hatred for Jesus Christ and anything Christian. They wish Christians were the ones murdering, oh yes they do! They are so upset that it is not Christians doing the killings because they cannot flat out attack only Christians. Now they have to make it more neutral and say “religion in general is bad!” Because none will actually say “Islam is evil and should be wiped off the earth and destroyed and never return as a world religion.” No they will not, they will only say that about Christianity. They hate God, the God they claim does not even exist. They hate God and only want to attack Him and no other false religions. I am so sick and tired of this Atheist delusional, double standard about what you are allowed to trash talk.

Christianity is not trying murder people and cut off heads, in fact Christians are the ones getting their heads off, but atheists do not care about that. They only care that “religion” is attacked, but they really mean Christianity when they say the term “religion.” Atheists are being completely dishonest and their lack of logic is so apparent when they argue this way. They need to stop the idiocy and start admitting the truth.

Atheists’ Anger All Seem To Come From The Same Complex

Atheists’ Anger All Seem To Come From The Same Complex

It seems that much of all atheists’ anger comes from the same complex. The “God does not exist so I hate him for it. Oh wait, God does exist but he does not exist the way I want him to exist!” complex. They hate God for “not existing” and then when evidence that points towards God existence, and His truth says contrary, they get even more upset because God does not exist the way they want him to exist. They elevate their own desires above God, and their own lowly opinions and feelings of what he should be or do for them, above God’s perfect standards of truth and morality. So they then have to pretend God does not exist, and delude themselves, in order to feel good and ignore the guilt of sin. Much of it of course has to do with wanting to commit sinful acts such as sexual immorality and other things, but a lot honestly comes from the fact life is hard. Pain happens. People put you down. The ego gets in the way of accepting objective truth. They have been hurt and there is no way anyone can tell them God is real otherwise he would have given them things, made people like them, and given them all the nice pleasures they want in life. Since life is painful and tough, and some people have hurt their feelings before, they will then yell at a non-existent god for it. This is their delusion and illogical nature. The Bible hurts their feelings because it tells them that they are wrong and need God to save them. It effects their ego that God does not exist in their own image.

Christian Hardcore Metal Band Singer Admits He Is An Atheist And Claims Most Christian Bands Are Fakes

Christian Hardcore Metal Band Singer Admits He Is An Atheist And Claims Most Christian Bands Are Fakes

I have for a long time had the theory that most bands who claim to be Christian in the various genres of Christian music are, more so than not, pretty fake, or using Christianity to sell records and make money. My point of view came from the punk rock and hardcore Christian scenes. When I found hardcore music, and most particularly, hardcore music that was Christian I knew I found the music for me. I remember buying a Zao album around 1996, “The Splinter Shards the Birth of Separation.” I was so pumped and the lyrics were so Christian, so deep. I met other kids who liked punk, hardcore and metal.  I bought other albums by Ninety Pound Wuss, Training For Utopia (who I found was only half members as Christian), and other Tooth And Nail (Solid State) Records bands. I eventually was a mail order customer for Facedown Records as well. A lot of the bands were real Christians and had very Christ centered lyrics, at least I assumed so.

Christian music artists have a huge responsibility to proclaim Christ and be responsible in their message. It if a fact that music, poetry, written expressions of beliefs and ideas are in fact teaching something. Whatever a Christian artist teaches is something that many church youth will follow. To say they are just artists or happen to be Christians in a band, and not a Christian band is irresponsible and a cop-out. They are promoting ideas and concepts and teach people things and if their message lacks biblical truth they are dangerous for people to follow. Christian bands should be considered as missionary or evangelist types who do it for God’s glory and are commissioned to do such work, but unfortunately they are not and the money speaks louder than the bible. So Christian businesses sell their stuff with tongues hanging out in anticipation because they are so desperate to look cool and make money in the world.

During the time I got into such music I would go to shows a lot and see bands. I had a friend who would book various bands and when the band members of various Christian groups involved with Christian pop punk, hardcore punk, metal etc. came to play many times the members never really reflected Christ at all. In fact, many times their behavior contradicted a life in Christ. Some even had members who would get drunk, say sexually immature jokes and totally lacked gospel centered behavior. I remember going to TOM Fest, a Christian music festival in Stevenson Washington (TOM = The Other Music), and never hearing much of anything about Jesus Christ and almost everyone who hung out at the festival were completely secular. You could buy TOM Fest tickets at Christian bookstores and buy many of the bands albums at Christian bookstores nationwide who played at the festival.  So many people were smoking, hooking up, and some were getting drunk. I fond condom wrappers on the ground. No one seemed to be there for Christ, and if any were most of them were fringe groups who believed in all kinds of false teachings and lacked discernment. Many charismatic types. I heard rumors about another Christian festival called Cornerstone Festival that is even bigger and had even more of the same issues on an even larger scale. Bands use huge festivals to promote themselves and stay relevant.

Recently, the singer of one of the most popular Christian metal bands right now came out as an atheist after being convicted of attempted murder. His name is Tim Lambesis of the band As I Lay Dying. I was never a fan of As I Lay Dying and never once bought an album or even saw them at a show. I did not like their “mu metal or emo influenced-scenecore” metalcore music. They were very trendy. I never knew they were even Christian because they were even popular on MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball and sold along with secular bands at big chain record store and their t-shirts were all over in Hot Topic stores. Most of their fans were not even Christians because they got so popular they transcended the Christian bookstore sales. But their albums were still always sold at various Christian bookstores. Christian record distributions also sold their albums as Christian. They became well accepted as a Christian band and openly confessed being Christians to everyone in interviews claiming their lyrics reflect their Christian beliefs.

Tim Lambesis plotted to have his wife murdered and wanted to hire a hit man to have her taken out. He was arrested in a string operation once word got out he was looking to have his wife killed. After the conviction he came out and admitted he was an atheist. He claimed he was an atheist practically the whole time and in the beginning of the band’s history he lost his faith a long with the rest of the band members who are all atheists now. He kept claiming Christianity anyway in order to sell music. He even claims that 9 out of 10 “Christian bands” are not real Christians. Most are faking it to sell music and remain popular. This is a theory I had long before I even knew of the band As I Lay Dying. I even called into Al Mohler’s (the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville Kentucky) radio show around 2002 when they were discussing the poor quality of lyrics in popular Christian music. I called in to explain my theory that most of these bands were faking their faith in order to get popular, or at least using the Christian culture to start up and sell their music and then go secular. Christianity is a good launching point since so many people in the United States come from some sort of Christian cultural upbringing. Christian marketing is a huge industry that makes a ton of money.

So many bands start Christian and get popular through church people, especially youth groups, then sell enough records to get popular outside of Christianity and go totally secular and sign on a secular label and make tons of money. Then they can sell t both Christian and secular audiences making a double whammy of money. Without the Christian support at the beginning their band would never have become relevant and their fame and popularity would never have lasted. They would never have made the money they make. Christian bookstore sales can boost a band really fast at the beginning. Al Mohler of course didn’t think my theory was actually that valid because he obviously does not know much about the music scene and how things work. At least he let me express it and took it into consideration.

So many bands who start out Christian, bands like Zao, get popular and water down their lyrics to where Christianity is totally devoid of anything they sing about. Yet, Christian bookstores will still sell their music. For the longest time at FYE Music stores (A secular ad corporate owned mainstream record store) Zao was listed under “Christian/Gospel” and not “Heavy Metal” like As I Lay Dying was. Finally they put Zao into the heavy metal section. I saw Zao around 2004 in Louisville, Kentucky and their behavior lacked anything Christian. All of the band members were practically drunk and a few of them saying the F word a lot and even acting like divas yelling at the sound man. I talked to singer Dan about his lyrics for the “A Funeral of God” album and he was drunk telling me how he saw visions and had dreams and saw angels and the end of the world etc. and he wrote about it. Very bizarre concept that album was, and knowing its origin I feel sad.

Over time I just quit caring about music or going to shows, especially not caring about the Christian music scene that pretends it cares about the gospel and evangelizing and witnessing God to people. Around 2011 I created a gospel tract made specifically for people into punk rock, hardcore, and metal music called “Hello Mr. Hardcore!” I had the intention of passing this on to punks and hardcore kids I might came across. I heard that As I Lay Dying was coming to town and I thought that would be a good place to pass off some of these gospel tracts. I went downtown to Birmingham, Alabama where I lived in my car. I came to the venue early and saw their trailer show up as i drove past. I saw the band members and turned around the block. I came back and slowly drove by and saw one of the band members, possibly Tim Lambesis himself, but I am not sure who it was since I never cared about this band and did not know what each member looked like. It was some guy with long hair and he was on his cell phone outside on the sidewalk. As I drove by I rolled down my window and said, “Hey! hey! Hey man!” and he looked at me all cautiously like he thought I was weird. He looked slightly nervous and then I threw him a gospel tract and drove off. I looked back and saw that he casually walked over t it on the ground and picked it up while still talking on his cell phone. So whoever he was in the band, he got the tract. Hopefully he showed it to others. I bet he was offended after reading it. After that I drove to and waited around at a Starbucks. I also went to a local record store for a bit to look at music. I decided it was nearing the time of the show and was going to walk up to the kids in line for the show or at least stand outside the venue to pass out tracts. As I was walking some random girl smoking a cigarette saw me and asked if I am into music. I said yeah. She wanted to know if I was going to the show. I said no, I don’t care about that band. She wanted to sell me a ticket for some reason like she had an extra one she did not want. She said her boyfriend was friends with the band or something. I asked if they were a Christian band and that people said they were some Christian band. She said, “Nooo.” And rolled her eyes. She said yeah they claim it but they are not actually Christians at all. As in she assumed they are not and don’t actually care. Anyway I said no thanks about the ticket and kept walking to the venue. Since i was early I saw all the kids lined up to go to the show and as I walked down the line I gave out all of my “Hello Mr. Hardcore!” gospel tracts and left. All of the scene kids took them.

Months later another big “Christian metal” show came to town and was at some huge church. I went to that show and got in line to pretend I am going to buy a ticket but instead passed out all my gospel tracts and left. I tell you most of the fans waiting around in line were anything but Christians and the show was simply just for entertainment and not much to do with Christ. This show was huge and thousands of people were in line to get in. Big named scenecore-metalcore bands came including some Facedown Records bands. I really forgot the name of all the bands because I was briefly aware of this show. I tell you though scene kids don’t really like gospel tracts.

Anyway Tim Lambesis is not the first fake Christian metal artist to come out as an atheist. One of the first and biggest was Roger Martinez of the 80’s thrash metal band Vengeance Rising. He came out as an atheist in 1997 and declared an all out war on Christianity. but he never plotted to have anyone murdered like Lambesis did. All though Martinez did make death threats, yet were not seeming to be absolutely serious.

The point is more often than people want to admit most of the bands claiming to be Christian which are making money and getting popular are actually fakes. The problem is the church culture, especially youth group kids totally lack discernment and this postmodern-“do not ever judge anyone for any reason whatsoever” church culture allows such bands to thrive who use the name of Christ to make money and keep an audience while later rejecting the church and going secular. I suspect that in the future many bands who thrives off of Christianity, including “worship” will come out as atheists or at least totally liberal who will deny the absolute infallibility of Scripture. Do not be surprised. Pretty soon you will be saying, “Hey you know that one band? They are not Christian anymore.” But still many will not openly reject Christ, but will not make anything they produce have to do with Him which in itself is rejection all though not a verbal or written conformation. Do not put your faith in a band, but on God and His Word.

Atheist Statement: Religion Does Not Help Poor People

Atheist Statement: Religion Does Not Help Poor People

I have heard it many times when a missionary happens to tell the gospel to someone who is poor: “Religion does not help poor people!”  When missionaries or any Christians see a poor person, even giving them a few bucks on the street, and then proceeds to witness the gospel to them the atheists get really angry.

In 2009 I was in Boracay, Philippines which is a tourist island with beautiful beaches and nice hotels. On that island most of the locals are in poverty and many live on the beach and streets and beg from tourists. When I showed up here I did not even expect such things at a tourist location and was surprised that many prostitutes (both female and ladyboy homosexual) were soliciting me and harassing me, many children were walking up to me wanting money or free food, many people sleep on the beach right in public while people are walking around them. I uploaded a video on youtube before, showing the reality of that island that unmasks the ugly reality that from all the nice hotels and bars and all the tourists, various local people are living in poverty. This video has stirred up so much controversy by many tourist types of people who claim it is exploitation or somehow a crime that I filmed such things (you can see the thumbs down the video got compared to thumbs up). Even some Filipinos are upset I filmed it and many call me racist, and claim I have some white messiah complex. All I did was film things I saw during a trip and happened capture these sad things. Why should I not? In the video I witnessed the gospel to a woman who had a baby who was begging. I gave her some money and told her the Gospel in a very short amount of time. I did not expect to see her and fumbled through the Gospel message and could not really do anything else. This pissed tons of atheists off including Filipinos who do not like Christians.

Poverty is all over the third world and many Christians will run into it on travels. What is the proper biblical response to seeing such sadness? Should we walk by and not give money and not share the Gospel? Should we give money and shut up and walk away? Should we share the Gospel but not give them any money? Or should we give some money and then explain the Gospel and hope somehow the Holy Spirit will communicate it to that person and they will somehow be saved? I think it is apparent that the latter thing is what a true Christian should do. Take any moment to share the Gospel! I could have been like any secular tourist and walked past her and did not care one bit about her or her baby, but instead I just felt sad and felt she could use the few pesos I gave her more than I could, and I would have plenty to finish my trip when I went on my way. I am not rich at all. I just decided I cannot truly help them physically but a few pesos, but I do have the message of the Gospel to share. I wonder if I did not share the Gospel if people would have been so angry. Possibly they would be angry I was showing poverty in the Philippines and many racist Filipinos who hate white people, but seem to love our money, would be upset I showed Boracay in a negative light. But I truly think what angered them was the fact I was a Christian and mentioned Jesus to this lady. I am pretty sure that if I was filming random things incluing beggars and all I did was throw out some pesos in her pot and walked on without saying anything they would not have been mad. It is the message of Christ that angers them so deeply. So what hope would an atheist have given her? “Well lady here is some pesos and I hope your life gets better see ya I’m gunna go to a bar now bye!”

Obviously, not every Christian, including me, has money to save the world. We can only do small individual things as we live our lives. I cannot give $100,000 US to any poor person to save them from a life of poverty. Heck, I don’t even have that kind of money. All I could give was a few pesos and still have enough to complete my trip and stay safe. The only reason I was in Boracay was because the church members and pastor I was traveling with wanted to make sure they saw Boracay on this “mission trip” we went on. I did not even want to go there and instead wanted to stay doing gospel work in Manila. Even so, I was there and took a walk alone on the beach at night and filmed what I saw and shared the gospel. I had absolutely no idea this would piss so many people off. I did not do it for attention or to show off, or even to feel good about myself. I just did it to show some people what the reality is and on my way thought, heck I should share the gospel real quick to this begging woman. I uploaded what I filmed to show some real things that people need to be informed about. Tourism has really destroyed a once beautiful island and with all of the extreme wealth and luxury surrounding the island there is so much filth, evil, and desperation.

The Bible teaches us to care for the distressed and poor. And this is the mindset I was thinking when I was filming the reality around me at Boracay, and what I was thinking when I uploaded the video.

Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself unstained by the world. James 1:27

If it was not for religion many charities would not exist and much of the help poor people get would also not occur much. There are aplethora of religious based charities and organizations existing to help poor people in third world countries like the Philippines. Religion convicts people of true morality and to help fellow humans. It also gives a reason for hope. There are far more Christian organizations helping the poor than any other religion and way more than any “kind atheists” out there helping the poor. People who are driven by their faith in God are convicted top help the poor as the bible teaches. Being really offended that a Christian would give money and also express their faith to a poor person is a constant pastime of many atheists. At least we have a reason for the hope that is within us and have a conviction to help. Since I am a Christian just walking on without sharing the Gospel would be a unloving thing to do. If I truly believe hope is in Christ for our eternal state after death then I must share the gospel even if it was in English and she does not speak it well. I did it hoping somehow the Holy Spirit would in some way make it clear and show her His light. The Bible teaches that life in this world, in this state, is temporary and our sorrows will be left behind if we put our faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. All of the misery, desperation, and poverty will not be comparable to the life we will live with God in heaven. What else could I do? I did what I could as a Christian who had a few pesos. I will not apologize for that. And I did not do anything, nor film, nor share the gospel, nor even write this blog post in order to claim I am a good person or boast in myself. I can only boast in God for I am nothing and He is all goodness and I did it for Him not my own glory.

People need to see reality. People need to not go on vacation and only gratify themselves as most of the tourist types of people who were upset with me often do. Go on vacation and enjoy luxury and ignore the poor children on the streets in the foreign country you are visiting with all of your money going to hotels, restaurants, bars, and yes many many times: sex tourism. Yet, the Christian who films something, shares the Gospel while dropping in a few bits of change is the bad guy…the state of the world’s hate towards God.
