The Natural Man Disappears In A Spark

The Natural Man Disappears In A Spark

A lot of people in the world, most of us, at least at some time before conversion to Christ, at one time, or if not, then someone who currently has not entered into reconciliation with God; people in general do not have what they need and they do not even know what they need. This truth is the reason why so many people live worthless lives, or non-fulfilling lives; constantly trying to find meaning, worth, and satisfaction and never getting any. This is the reason many enter into anger, hate, depression, lust, and a mad mental state of confusion.

So many people do not ever talk about spiritual things, and worse off, the ones who completely reject spiritual things and are taught that such a concept of spirituality is ludicrous and embarrassing to even openly consider have no hope of ever receiving these needs, wants, desires, and such understanding, peace, calmness, hope, purpose, reason, and love given to them. There is no purpose, there is no meaning, there is no point. If this world was the extent of existence then what a sad and hopeless life. Do what you want, do it now, do not care and disappear in a spark of naught.

This is the extent of a life well lived to the natural man. Live in ignorance and despair and exist as a quick fire fueled by filth.

1 Corinthians 2:14 “But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.”

Why Do I Exist?

Why Do I Exist?

Sometimes I wonder why God created me and what my purpose is in His plan. I wonder if maybe I was created for one special moment in time to do a very specific purpose. It may seem small and no one will notice, but to God maybe it is important and very special. Maybe there have been many moments already in my life that already happened that were of great significance to God’s kingdom. I won’t know until I get to heaven. But a lot of times I do not know if I have reached my full potential or accomplished enough in life, or time is wasting away, and I have lost so much of it already.

I don’t know, but there is not much a person can do outside of his own abilities and life circumstances. We are all different and live in different environments and have different abilities and skills. Where do I fit in all of this? Why have some of my efforts not worked out even though my intentions were pure? What is God’s plan for my life? It seems like life is stagnant and nothing new is moving. But recently my mom told me about Jacob waiting for decades, Moses living in the wilderness for 40 years before he saw the burning bush, and I am reminded of some of the prophets who did nothing until one day God called them into action out of nowhere. I wait for that day, and also possibly there were days or weeks I was used in such a way already, but I do not know the impact they had. God just calls us to simply believe. To have faith and believe, that is all God asks. But I want to do so much more, yet I understand grace is given for free and not by works or actions, but I still want to work and still want to act. At least I have this blog as an outlet to talk about God. Well this is just what I have been thinking about lately and life seems tough. Maybe someone out there thinks the same way as me who knows…I would like to meet such people.

Dr. Barry Corey President Of Biola Says Christians Should Go Barefoot

Dr. Barry Corey President Of Biola Says Christians Should Go Barefoot

Recently, Dr. Barry Corey the 8th President of Biola University did an interview where he states Christians should go barefoot as servants and not wear steel toed boots and kick out heresy from his brother.  The article can be found at the Christian Post. Some of his quotes to me are suspect:
“I want Biola to be a community of barefoot followers of Jesus, where we learn to take off our shoes and understand that leadership and servanthood are about unlacing our shoes when God calls us, not putting on steel-toed boots to kick the heresy out of our brother or Jesus into our culture. Going barefoot is the position Jesus’ disciples took as he washed their feet, teaching them about being servants and telling them to go and do likewise.”
and
” I’m certainly focused on taking Biola University to the next level, but I’m also starting a new book about having a “receivable faith.” Based on Matthew 10:40, I believe to engage today’s culture we have to make sure our message is “receivable.” The truth can’t work if no one is listening. So if the Christian community is going to regain the trust and listening ear of secular culture, we need to share our faith in a way that makes people eager to hear the good news.”
I found this article from Biola’s Facebook page where I stated a response in the comments section (excuse any misspellings or typos please):
“I am pretty sure God does not want us to be barefoot. Ephesians 6:13-17 says, “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, ”        Apparently even steel toed boots are not strong enough. God wants us to wear armored shoes. The gospel of peace does not mean we are peace with the enemy, it means the gospel that BRINGS peace with God and turns away His wrath.Dr. Corey forget to write the previous verse before his father’s quote:
Matthew 10:”34-37
“Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.”Obviously, the Bible teaches people will hate the message and it will create enemies. We arent supposed to change the message or present it in a very liberal way. Luke 9:5 suggests God expects people to reject us sometimes “And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
If this is so I do not believe the Bible teaches us to change the gospel to fit the culture and be nice to them, but to simply express the Gospel and what the bible teaches. Poeple will either accept or reject. The way Dr. Corey speaks it seems that he is saying we should appeal to the world and impress them. But that sounds more like 2 Timothy 4:2-5 ” preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”Walking up to people and touching their face, or hugging muslims and saying “I love you” does nothing unless you are actually expressing the bible’s teachings including rebuking, correcting etc. The bible is pretty clear on what it teaches.

If you are for something, you are also against other things. You cannot be FOR ONE TRUTH but then not be against what is FALSE. It makes no sense and is illogical.

This is my problem with how Biola behaves and how they pride themselves as “conservative” but they are actually coming off as liberal and trying hard to impress secularites instead of just expressing the gospel truth. Sometimes we should put on steel toe boots and kick out heresy. There is always a time for that as well as a time for embracing.

I am a graduate of Biola from 2009 and I am stating this. I am sure this comment will get deleted because I do not stand in awe of the Dr. Corey President of Biola, and I will also get blocked but at least I said it. I agree with the guy above me who said he is not sure why there needs to be a dichotomy here. If you are going to publicly state something for all Christians to adehere to you should expect to be criticized or questioned. Simply deleting or ignoring people like me in order to look better PR wise wont stop this (in case you do delete this). Biola is simply trying to redefine what conservative means.”

If it gets deletes so be it. But at least I said what needed to be said.
